One Day

It all started on that near-miss one-night stand after graduation in 1988. We see Emma (Anne Hathaway) and Dexter (Jim Sturgess) every year on the same one day - Saint Swithin's Day, the 15th of July. Emma starts off as a hard-working waitress in a Tex-Mex restaurant in London, working her way up to be a writer while teaching for a living. The wealthy playboy Dexter hosts glamorous but cheap late night shows featuring dancing girls in cages. Emma's life is improving while Dexter's is deteriorating. What really happens on that one day in 1988?
